Job Description:
This position is responsible for supporting the Stores Operations Manager in performing and coordinating the daily operations of the Division’s Stockroom located on the College Hill campus.
These responsibilities include issuing and delivery of stock items; shipping, receiving and delivery of materials, including biohazardous, radioactive/chemical materials, live specimens and dry ice; ordering of laboratory gasses, and related duties to support the Division operations, such as distribution of express mail.
Logs, scans, barcodes chemical inventory for the EHS Chemical Environmental Management System database.
The Stockroom Coordinator is responsible for the transportation of mail (packages, letters, etc.) for the Division’s off-campus locations.
This position is also the primary individual to provide coverage for the nighttime BioMed Center
Caretaker when necessary due to the absence.
Additionally, this position assumes the responsibilities of the Stockroom Coordinator at 70 Ship Street, when necessary, which includes all related Stockroom and general duties as assigned.
Responsible for assisting in Division’s shipping and receiving operations: receiving material and delivering to laboratories and offices, handling biohazardous, radioactive/chemical materials and live specimens; shipping of packages through various shipping vendors 50%
Daily operations of the stockroom facility located on the College Hill campus- 15%
Supporting Actions:
Responsible for issuing and receiving of stock, using computerized database
Coordinate stock replenishment from vendors; including receipt and verification of
Takes active role in maintaining a customer-focused stockroom which includes laboratory staples and commonly-used
Act as liaison for customers in procuring stock or specialty items in a timely, cost effective manner while maintaining the integrity of the
Basic computer programs/MS office
Flexibily and eager to learn
Able to lift 50 lbs, quick learner, customer service
Computer skills, science background
Flexible and customer service oriented prior experience in shipping and recieving would be ideal
