Commercializing a new class of flow battery technology for low-cost, grid-scale energy storage and seeks a contractor to provide temporary support for the flow battery development program. The work responsibilities for this position include:
Execution of prototype battery tests to support the development and verification of design requirements for electrochemical power stacks and power stack components
Development and documentation of standard test methods and operating procedures
Working with senior technical staff to design experiments to support root cause and corrective action investigations
Independently executing laboratory experiments to support end of life characterization of power stack components, component verification, and root cause corrective action investigations
Write technical reports and give technical presentations to colleagues within the organization to communicate findings.
Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in materials science and demonstrable experience in analytical techniques characterizing physical properties of materials such as dimensions, mechanical strength, and electrical conductivity.
The ideal candidates will have a minimum of 1 year of experience using Python or MATLAB programming languages for data analysis applications.
Relevant experience in energy conversion devices (e.g. PV solar, batteries, fuel cells, electrolyzers) is highly desirable.
Individuals must be flexible, able to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment and able to work independently and as part of a group.
Candidates must possess excellent communication skills and have a strong attention to detail. Candidates should be proficient in performing statistical analysis of analytical data sets and characterizing measurement error.
