Must be able to read blueprints and create custom metal chassis.
Must be able to determine the metal stretch with respect to the metal type and bend radius required.
Set up and operate a variety of machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, planers and precision grinders to make metal parts, mechanisms, tools, or machines to exacting tolerances and dimensions.
Interpret blueprints, sketches and engineering specifications; determines sequence of operations, number of cuts required and method of setup.
Use a variety of machinist’s hand tools and precision measuring instruments; make standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds and speeds.
Measure, mark and scribe dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining; fits and assembles precision parts into mechanical equipment and determine material, parts and equipment required.
Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
Ability to communicate issues with the design and or the process requirements to management and or design engineers.
