Responsibilities:
• The Senior Project Manager is responsible for successfully managing multiple, complex, cross-departmental projects that involve changes to business processes, selection of software solutions, and IT software and system implementations.
• This project manager position carries the responsibility of leading academic and administrative departments, technical staff, and user communities through a variety of campus-wide IT projects.
• The Senior Project Manager must be able to manage complex IT projects using both traditional project management approaches and the Agile/Scrum methodology as needed based on the project.
• Project managers will occasionally be required to work outside of normal business hours as project needs dictate.
• This senior-level project manager reports to the Director of IT Strategy, Project and Portfolio Management in the Office of Information Technology.
• Project has already started, so they are looking for someone who can hit the ground running. This is a crucial role for the University and would be looking for someone to work the duration of the assignment/project.
• Prefer someone on east coast or mid west time and maybe in the commutable area like RI/MA/CT to come in for in person meetings on a rare occasion.
• 8-10 years of IT project management experience preferred, minimum of 5 years’ experience planning and managing all sizes of technology projects.
• Bachelor’s preferred, PMP certification a plus
• Strong customer service skills. Ability to foster buy-in and cooperation through persuasion, influence, and persistence
