Job Description

Pay Range: $42/hr – $46/hr, the pay rate may differ depending on your skills, education, experience, and other qualifications.

Work Schedule: 9/80 Schedule [Hours: 5:00 – 2:30 PM or 6:00 – 3:30 PM, can be left to their preference on start time with associated leave time]

Job Description:

  • In this role you will design industrial tools, dies, gauges, drill & assembly jigs, fixtures, machine attachments and equipment, required for production or experimental use, considering such factors as accessibility, economy, mobility, and performance requirements.
  • While being the principle contributor and/or leader of a task, you shall work with internal/external customers, and colleagues to ensure that the design meets the customer needs.

Core Competencies:

  • Experience with drawing release criteria and related documents for soundness, efficiency, and simplicity in design;
  • Completeness, clarity, and dimensional accuracy;
  • Correctness of materials and processes;
  • Conformity to design/drafting standards (e.g. GD&T, ASME), design specifications, and practicability;
  • Economy of fabrication, assembly, and installation.
  • Experience with industry standard CAD design tools including CATIA, NX CAD.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing, methods & fabrication processes (e.g., machining, welding, heat treatment, machines/machine tools, cutting tools).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with stress analysis techniques, concepts and practices.
  • Experienced in structural analysis methods including NASTRAN models of metallic and composite structures, as well as hand analysis.

Skills required for this role:

  • CAD modeling skills (Preferably CATIA & NX).
  • Designing & drafting for manufacturability (tolerance, material selection).
  • Knowledge of fabrication methods (machining, welding).

“Nice to have” skills:

  • Experience in an assembly manufacturing environment
  • Experience in an aerospace field/company
  • Material properties awareness
  • Experience in a tool design environment

Day-to-Day tasks:

  • Developing a concept for tools from a request of a supporting engineer for assembly or fabrication of components.
  • They will be modeling & drafting with expectations of completion within an established timeline and budget(hours).
  • Ongoing coordination with team members will be expected to successfully address customer request/needs.
  • Clearance is not required, but must have ability to obtain a clearance to shift into programs where it will be required.
